Johnny O’Neal е Grammy-nominated пианист и вокалист — артист с дълбок суинг, блус усещане, госпъл корени, неподправено чувство за хумор и онази естествена сценична харизма, която превръща концерта в лична среща.

In The Mood Jazz Club closes the season with a very special guest performance — Johnny O’Neal Trio.

Johnny O’Neal is a Grammy-nominated pianist and vocalist — an artist with a deeply swinging sound, blues feeling, gospel roots, natural humor, and the kind of stage charisma that turns a concert into a personal encounter.

His career has crossed paths with some of the greatest names in American jazz. He has performed with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Dizzy Gillespie, Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae, Ray Brown, Clark Terry, Stan Getz, Sonny Stitt and many others.

At the recommendation of Oscar Peterson, Johnny O’Neal also entered the world of cinema — portraying the legendary pianist Art Tatum in the Ray Charles biopic “Ray.”

Since returning to the New York scene, O’Neal has become an essential part of the city’s club culture, performing and holding residencies at venues such as Smalls, Smoke, Birdland, Blue Note and Mezzrow. In 2025, he was awarded a Jazz Legacy Fellowship by the Jazz Foundation of America — a recognition given to musicians who have left a lasting mark on the history of jazz.

On August 2 (Sunday), In The Mood Jazz Club closes the season with an evening where swing, blues, gospel, ballads and stories meet in their most natural environment — a small club, an intimate stage, and music happening just a few steps away.
